Cos it feels strange, and quite hard to explain, but I just can’t decide
If that perfect place exists still in some way, or is lost now to time

By glassy seas gulls were coasting in the breeze, and the gulf water was warm
And the mercury held no sign that we could see of the gathering storm
Through these awful years where the things we once held dear, they’ve all just up and gone
